DrawingCheck — Drawing Metadata Review
Last updated: September 30, 2026

Summary: DrawingCheck processes PDF drawing files selected by the user locally in Chrome. The current version does not require an account, does not upload drawing files or extracted metadata to DrawingCheck servers, and does not use advertising or browsing tracking.

1. What DrawingCheck does

DrawingCheck is a Chrome extension for reviewing metadata in PDF drawing packages. It helps users inspect drawing numbers, drawing titles, revisions, filenames, duplicate drawing numbers, missing revision information and other drawing-register discrepancies before drawings are issued or submitted.

Users can review extracted information against the source drawing, correct or confirm drawing details, add reviewed text to a separate PDF copy where supported, and export a drawing register.

2. Files selected by the user

DrawingCheck processes PDF files that the user explicitly selects or drops into the extension. It does not automatically browse the user's computer, cloud storage, websites, email or unrelated files.

3. Local processing

PDF parsing, metadata extraction, review and register generation are performed locally in the user's browser using code and PDF libraries included with the extension package.

The current version does not transmit selected PDF files, extracted drawing text, extracted metadata or drawing-register information to DrawingCheck servers.

4. Local storage

Selected PDFs and extracted review information may be stored locally in the user's Chrome profile so the user can continue working with a drawing package inside DrawingCheck.

This locally stored information can include drawing numbers, drawing titles, revisions, filenames, extracted source text, review status, issue status, notes and other metadata derived from selected PDF files.

Users can remove package information through DrawingCheck's available clearing or removal controls. Browser or extension storage may also be removed when extension data is cleared or the extension is uninstalled.

5. Personally identifiable information

DrawingCheck does not ask users to provide a name, email address, telephone number, account profile or payment information in order to use the extension.

However, a PDF selected by the user may itself contain personally identifiable information, such as names, email addresses, telephone numbers, company contacts, signatures, consultant details or similar information included in title blocks, notes, stamps or other drawing content.

If such information is present, DrawingCheck may process or store it locally as part of the user-requested drawing review workflow. DrawingCheck does not use this information for identification, profiling, advertising, marketing or any purpose unrelated to drawing review.

6. Data DrawingCheck does not collect for its own purposes

7. No account required

The current version of DrawingCheck does not require users to create or sign in to a DrawingCheck account.

8. No advertising or tracking

DrawingCheck does not use selected drawing files or extracted metadata for advertising, behavioral profiling, cross-site tracking or analytics-based user profiling. It does not monitor websites the user visits or maintain a browsing-history profile.

9. Data sharing and sale

DrawingCheck does not sell selected drawing files, extracted metadata or personal information.

The current version does not transfer selected drawing files or extracted drawing data to advertising networks, data brokers or other third parties for marketing, profiling or unrelated purposes.

10. Remote code

DrawingCheck does not download or execute remote JavaScript, WebAssembly or other remote executable code. The executable JavaScript and PDF-processing libraries required by the extension are included in the extension package submitted to the Chrome Web Store.

11. Original PDF files

DrawingCheck does not modify the user's original source PDF in place. Where reviewed text additions are supported, the resulting PDF is exported as a separate copy.

12. User responsibility

DrawingCheck provides extraction and review assistance. Automatically extracted drawing numbers, titles, revisions and other metadata may be incomplete or incorrect and should be verified against the source drawing before issue, submission or other professional use.

13. Changes to this policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated if DrawingCheck's features, permissions, storage or data practices change. The latest version will be published on this page.
